Showroom / Flooring

Flooring you can stand on before you buy it

At our Rancho Santa Margarita showroom you can see hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl, laminate and tile at full size, take samples home, and have the floor measured, supplied and installed by one company.

Bring photos of the rooms and, if you have them, rough measurements. We will help you narrow the choice to the floors that suit each room, then measure and quote the installed price.

Pick by room, then by look

The right floor starts with what the room has to survive: water, sun, pets, stairs, and how much it gets walked on. Once the material fits the room, the color and texture are the easy part.

Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms
Water is the deciding factor. Porcelain or ceramic tile handles standing water; vinyl with a waterproof core is a warmer, quieter option. Check the product's warranty for wet areas before you commit.
Living areas and bedrooms
Hardwood, engineered wood and laminate all work. Wood can be refinished; laminate and vinyl are replaced, not refinished, but stand up better to scratches and spills.
Stairs
Stair nosings and treads need matching pieces, and not every product has them. Ask before you fall in love with a floor that has to run up the stairs.
Homes on a concrete slab
Solid hardwood is nailed to a wood subfloor, so on a slab the usual choices are engineered wood, a floating floor, or tile.

Solid hardwood or engineered wood

Solid hardwood is one piece of wood through its thickness and can be sanded and refinished several times over its life. Engineered wood is a real wood top layer over a layered core, which keeps it more stable as temperature and humidity change and lets it go where solid wood should not, such as over a slab.

How many times an engineered floor can be refinished depends on the thickness of its top layer. Ask for that number when you compare samples.

What changes the price of a floor

The material is only part of it. Taking out the old floor, leveling or repairing the subfloor, moving furniture and appliances, stairs, and the transitions where one floor meets another all add labor. A floor that looks the same price per square foot can come in very differently once the room is measured.

We measure the rooms and add an allowance for cuts and waste, so you order once. Prices for products in our online shop are listed there; installed prices come from a measured quote.

See it in the light you live with

Floors change color between the showroom, a sunny room and a room lit at night. Take samples home and lay them where the floor will go, next to your cabinets and walls, in the morning and in the evening.

Questions we hear

Can I take flooring samples home?

Yes. You can borrow samples from the showroom to see them in your own light before you decide. A sample deposit is refunded when the sample comes back.

Do you install the flooring you sell?

Yes. We measure, supply and install, and we can remove the old floor and prepare the subfloor. Installation is quoted after the rooms are measured.

Do I need an appointment to see flooring?

No. Walk-ins are welcome during showroom hours. Book a visit if you want a designer's time to yourself.

Which floor is best for a kitchen or bathroom?

One rated for water: porcelain or ceramic tile, or vinyl with a waterproof core. Check that the warranty covers wet areas.

Can I buy flooring online?

Some products are in our online shop at their listed prices, for pickup at the showroom or delivery on a quote. Most flooring is chosen at the showroom and quoted with installation.
